Another big event in Fife coming up. The 2nd Annual Social Enterprise Business Awards – a collaboration between the Fife SEN and the Local Social Economy Partnership – will take place at the Adam Smith College in Kirkaldy on Wed 18th March. Once again, our friends in the Kingdom have pulled out the stops with an impressive list of speakers that include Liam Black (former CEO of Fifteen). We`re sure it`ll be another great event and will keep you informed on this year`s winners. strong lobbying on the part a number of Cultural SEN members, a parliamentary motion is being submitted by Cathie Peattie (MSP). The Network is grateful to the support of Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition (SSEC) in wording the motion. See hear, first of three Community of Business events this year was held at Dundee’s Sensations Science Centre yesterday. The Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce hosted the event in partnership with the Tayside SEN. 10 social enterprises exhibited and around 70 delegates attended from the Private and Public Sectors along with the members of the Network. Lots of positive discussions took place and we hope some business opportunities will arise from these. Everyone involved is keen to build on this inaugural event in the future. Further events are scheduled for Inverness on 17th March and Renfrewshire on 25th March. If you`d like come along, contact – we`re limited to 30 places. return on investment (SROI) analysis is a process of understanding, measuring and reporting on the social, environmental and economic value that is created by an organisation or project.The Scottish Government aims to ensure widespread awareness and knowledge of SROI among third sector organisations, funders, commissioners and accounting bodies, and promote its adoption as a means of measuring social impact and communicating value creation.Forth Sector Development, in conjunction with the SROI Network, has been engaged by the Scottish Government on the recently launched SROI Project which aims to develop, promote and support the use of a standard form for measuring social return on investment delivered by the third sector in Scotland. The team at Forth Sector are keen to communicate and raise awareness of the SROI project with local networks and members over the coming months.
