Mental Health & Wellbeing in Rural Communities

This session on mental health and wellbeing is particularly relevant in these challenging times, and has been a strong theme emerging from recent SEN sessions. The ongoing pressure on individuals and organisations has a significant impact on the mental health and resilience of staff and volunteers of social enterprises, and this session has been designed to share information and support resources. Particularly in rural areas, the lack of anonymity can sometimes be a barrier to accessing support, so we hope that the resources and support signposted in this session will be helpful. This is an opportunity to share experiences, peer support, and connect with others across rural Scotland. 

Employability & Employment for Young People

Showcasing how social enterprises are improving the employability of and creating employment for young people - particularly in light of the impact of covid. And exploring what would help them deliver more.

John Pearce Memorial Lecture

The lecture sponsored by the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health will host Ed Mayo, Chief Executive of Pilotlight. The title for this year's lecture is: "The Power of Dreams: community economic development after the virus". Ed will reflect on the changing dynamics of community economic development that he’s witnessed throughout his career and its potential to support communities in the wake of COVID
